Teen Jazz and Contemporary is offered for students who wish to excel in the popular contemporary style of dance. Beginning with classical jazz technique and warm up, students will also learn fun contemporary combinations set to popular music that will allow them to express themselves on the dance floor. This class performs in our annual Spring recital.

Hip Hop 4 is a dynamic, upbeat class set to popular music. It is a great option for students who want to learn street-style and freestyle dance moves in a fun, fast-paced setting. By learning to move to the beat of the music students will improve flexibility, balance and coordination while also developing their sense of rhythm and musicality and individual style. Progression through our General Hip Hop program builds upon skills learned the previous year however is it also appropriate for students new to dance or to JLDC. This class has two performance opportunities, one in our mid-year Hip Hop Show as well as our annual Spring recital.

Teen Dance Collective is a new enrichment class designed for beginner/intermediate dancers who wish to learn technique in four dance styles: ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. TCD is a great option for dancers who wish to study many styles of dance during a once a week intensive class. This class performs in our annual Spring recital.

Advanced Teen Jazz and Contemporary builds upon the basic movements learned in Teen Jazz and Contemporary but is also appropriate for dancers new to the class.
