Introduction to Dance 1 & 2 are ballet-based classes where young dancers will begin to learn within a more formal class structure. The goal of a child’s first steps in dance is to encourage artistic expression and imagination all while developing their listening and social skills along with coordination and motor skills. This class provides the opportunity to learn to dance with emphasis on creativity, fun and the joy of movement. While continuing to develop their strength and spatial-awareness through repetition during class each week, children will also learn choreography for participation in our annual spring recital enhancing cooperation, leadership and memory skills. 

Dancers who have completed Introduction to Dance 1 will build upon the skills they have learned while new dancers will be introduced to dance steps and terminology in a positive, engaging setting.

Kidzhop, Fit and Tumble is a great class that combines fun hip hop dance moves that your child will love with fitness and basic tumbling. Using soft equipment such as mats, tunnels, cones and foam beams, and a specially designed program, pre-schoolers will learn basic dance and tumbling skills in a fun, safe environment while acquiring balance, spatial awareness and confidence. This class culminates with a performance in our annual, family-friendly Spring recital.

Children should be entering kindergarten as of September 1, 2021.

Pre-Ballet/Tap is an age-appropriate, ballet-based class that precedes formal ballet training. The class is taught in a gentle, engaging manner where students will begin learning basic technique. In Pre-Ballet I, dancers are introduced to the ballet barre, port de bras and some ballet terminology. In Pre-Ballet II, the curriculum is taught at a slightly faster pace with attention to refinement of previously learned skills. Students will be taught sequencing skills in preparation for formal ballet training. All Pre-Ballet classes include a tap section to enhance student’s musicality and rhythmic coordination. This class culminates with one ballet performance in our annual, family-friendly Spring recital.

Hip Hop 1 provides an introduction to the hip hop style of dance including the latest street dance moves. Set to engaging, upbeat music, students will learn to move to the beat of the music, developing their sense of rhythm and musicality as well as their own individual style. Through learning basic footwork students will improve flexibility, balance and coordination. This is a fast-paced class that will keep kids moving and feeling confident in a fun, safe environment. This year long program has two performance opportunities, one in our mid-year Hip Hop Show as well as our annual Spring recital.

AcroDance 1 Tuition: $850.00

Jazz/Tap 1 is a fun class designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Tap and Jazz. Students will learn the basics of each dance style while refining and building upon their dance vocabulary throughout the year.  Jazz/Tap will improve their flexibility, sense of rhythm and overall coordination and confidence. This class will perform in our annual Spring recital.

Hip Hop/Acro 1 is a great class that combines fun hip hop dance moves that your child will love with fitness and basic tumbling. This class culminates with a performance in our annual, family-friendly Spring recital.

AcroDance 1 teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all, discipline and concentration. AcroDance  is the fusion of classic dance technique with  proper body alignment and the precision and athleticism of tumbling.
