JAMIE BROWN
Jamie Brown began studying dance at the Allegheny Ballet Academy with her summers spent training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. There she joined the Allegheny Ballet Company, a member of the Northeast Regional Ballet Association. At sixteen she received a scholarship to continue her studies at the Boston Ballet School.
She has performed in Boston Ballet’s productions of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker and in Boston Ballet II’s Snow White. As a member of the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre, she had the opportunity to work with numerous choreographers as well as dance in the full- length productions of Coppelia and Romeo and Juliet. She was most recently a member of the Boston Dance Company where she created many principal roles including the title role of Cinderella, Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie and Minkus pas de Trois, and James Reardon’s Concertino, Trauermusik, Gershwin Suit, Scenes D’ Amour, and Glazunov Dances. She was also featured in Erika Wolf’s Progressions and Matthew Averill’s’ staging of La Bayadere. Ms. Brown was a principal guest artist with the Allegheny Ballet dancing the Grand Pas from Sleeping Beauty.
Ms. Brown is on the teaching faculty of the Joanne Langione Dance Center, the Studio of
Dance Arts in Methuen, and Keri Productions. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer
through Fitness Resources Associates and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of
America and is currently enrolled in the Exercise Physiology program at the University
of Massachussets.
JOSLYN STEWART-CARTER
Joslyn Stewart-Carter graduated from Suny Purchase in 1997 with a BFA in Dance Performance. In 1996, she performed internationally with the Moeketsi Koena Dance Company, based in the Netherlands, and with the Anna Schrefl Co. CIE, based in Austria. She continued with the Anna Schrefl Co. CIE until 1998. She then began performing and collaborating in New York City with Nancy Bannan. From 1998-2000, Joslyn performed in Boston with the Nicola Hawkins Dance Company and also with Perla Joy Furr as part of the Choreographers Group. Her choreography has been recognized at both regional and national competitions. She is the Artistic Director of the Joslyn Stewart Carter Youth Dance Company and is the Assistant Director of the Joanne Langione Dance Center. She has had several students go on to follow in her footsteps and dance professionally. |
MELI CURRIE
Meli Currie received her early training with the KDS Dance Company and the Hackworth School of Performing Arts. She earned her BA in Dance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and studied within the five colleges under Kenneth Lipitz, Andrea Watkins, Adrienne Hawkins, and Terese Freedman. She was the captain of the UMass dance team, ranking in the Top 5 Division I schools. She received full scholarships for programs including; the Trainee Program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, the Walnut Hill Summer Dance Program, Hartford School of Ballet, the Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Hollywood, California, and the Luigi’s Dance Center in New York City.In addition to teaching at JLDC, Meli also coaches the Harvard University Dance Team in Cambridge, MA. Last year, they placed 6th in the country (Div. I schools) and successfully reached first place in 2004.

MARIA LA ROSSA
Maria LaRossa has been a dance teacher/choreographer for the past four years. She has received intense dance training in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical and Modern Dance. Maria recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Salem State College with a BA in English and minors in Dance and Communication Disorders. While attending the college, she was President, Vice President and Secretary of the Repertory Dance Theatre,Vice President of the National Speech-Language and Hearing Association, a recipient of the Presidential Arts Scholarship in Dance and the Creativity Award, received an Irene Ryan Scholarship Nomination in Theatre and also received the award for "Best Actress" of 2005. Along with teaching, Maria has performed in numerous productions, such as Children of a Lesser God (Sarah Norman), Cinderella (Cinderella) and A Chorus Line (Judy Turner). This past summer, Maria was the choreographer for the professional musical production of The Return to the Forbidden Planet and just completed her run in the professional production of I Hate Hamlet, playing the role of Dierdre McDavey. She is currently performing with the Peanut Butter and Jelly Dance Company, a professional dance company in Boston, MA.

VITTORIA O’NEILL
Vittoria’s early years of training in Jazz, Modern, Tap and Ballet were at Kerry Smith’s Academy of Dance Arts in Norwood, Massachusetts. She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Dance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in just three years with a scholarship. After college, she chose to dedicate her dance career to teaching. From 1995-2003 she was the ballet instructor at Kerry Smith’s Academy of Dance Arts and is currently also teaching at K&M Studio in Norwood. Throughout the years, at various competitions, she has earned several awards for choreography and has been recognized for the technique of her students. Her biggest joy in teaching is watching her students improve and achieve goals they set for themselves. Watching their confidence develop is the most rewarding aspect of teaching.
JEN PINARD
Jen has been dancing since age 2. She studied at the Hackworth School of Performing Arts as well as the Pioneer Valley School of Ballet. Jen has won many regional titles at numerous dance competitions around New England. She has gotten the opportunity to study under dance sensations, Dan Karaty, Mia Michaels, Michelle Assaf, Joe Lanteri, andArienne Hawkins. She has also performed with Dan Karaty for the past four years in the Off Broadway production of "Shake the Floor". Jen was a performer in Mia Miachaels' production "Mia Live" in New York City and danced in front of City Hall with Adrienne Hawkins. Jen most recently was in a prduction of "Cabaret" with the Majestic Theater.
Jen has been teaching since age 16 and it is no secret that her students adore her!
