The Dancer's Preparatory Program II Advanced Studies

Whether students are pursuing a career in dance, or studying for their own  personal enrichment, JLDC will encourage them to reach their fullest capacity as dancers.

Proper class placement ensures the orderly advancement of each student.

The Excel Program is offered to students who have worked diligently to develop their own creativity and technique. Excel classes are accelerated and offered to qualified students by invitation.  E-vites will be sent on Monday, June 9, 2008.

Pointe work is offered to those students who have demonstrated readiness  to
dance "en Pointe". When a student has developed enough strength in the muscles of
the feet, legs and back, she progresses from working on demi-pointe (balls of the feet)
to Pointe (the toes). Each student is individually evaluated for strength, and will
proceed to Pointe work at her own pace (physical harm can be the result of
beginning this ballet technique too early). Pointe class placement is made
from teacher recommendation and the director.
