Ages 2.0 – 4.0 Years
The goal
of
Playdance (ages
2.0 - 4.0 years) is to foster a love of music and movement in your child. Using a large open dance space, a variety of music and song, along with several movement
tools, the program is designed to be fun and to develop classroom
readiness. We will also focus on building basic locomotive skills, coordination and strength. Imaginary journeys, improvisation and theater games will encourage self-expression and creativitiy. The concept of
Playdance was created to ensure that young children do not begin formal training too early, yet are encouraged to explore as many ways of moving as their imaginations will allow. Class includes rest-time where students will hear a story and have juice.
Playdance I ages 2.0-3.0
Playdance II ages 3.0-4.0
Dancin'
with Mommy (20
months –2.5 years.) is your child's first movement class. Set to upbeat, whimsical music, Dancin' with Mommy is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the endless possibilities of movement and dance. We will focus on building basic locomotive skills, coordination and strength. The learning process will be enhanced through the use of movement tools such as scarves, balls, hoops and musical instruments. Imaginary journeys, improvisation and theater games will encourage self-expression and creativity. Dancin' with Mommy is taken with a parent or caregiver. This class
is geared to the child who wants to dance, but who is not yet ready to separate from mom.
Dress
code: JLDC regulation
pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers.

note that teacher class assignments are not finalized and are subject
to change prior to the opening of the 2008-2009 school year. On rare occasions,
undersubscribed classes will be cancelled at the discretion of JLDC, at
which time we will place your child in an appropriate class approved
by parents and the school.
