Introduction to Dance is designed to develop coordination, rhythm, and a love for music and movement. The goal of a child’s first steps in dance is to encourage artistic expression. Introduction to Dance gives children the opportunity to learn to dance in an informal setting with emphasis on creativity, fun and the joy of movement.
Dress Code: JLDC regulation pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and any color chiffon skirt.

Pre-Ballet precedes formal ballet training. The curriculum is designed to be age appropriate and is taught in a gentle manner. In Pre-Ballet I, children are introduced to the ballet barre, port de bras and some ballet terminology.
As first graders, Pre-Ballet II students move along at a faster pace with attention to refinement of previously learned skills. This class will teach sequencing skills in preparation for Ballet I.
All Pre-Ballet classes include a tap section to enhance student’s musicality and rhythmic coordination.

Pre-Ballet students must also have black patent leather tap shoes.
This class is offered to students who show a special interest and ability in their age group by recommendation of their teacher. For maximum benefit and progress “Prima Ballerinas” is taken in conjunction with a regularly scheduled ballet class.
Prima Ballerina Dress code: Carnation Pink Regulation Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and any color chiffon skirt.
This class is offered to students who show a special interest and ability in their age group by recommendation of their teacher. For maximum benefit and progress “Extra Fun Jazz ” is taken in conjunction with a regularly scheduled ballet class.
Extra Fun Jazz Dress code: Carnation Pink Regulation Leotard, black pants and regulation tan jazz shoes.
Kidzhop introduces children to gross motor movement set to popular music allowing them to move freely while developing rhythm and coordination. KidZhop taught by trained dance professional, provides a quality enhancement to Pre-Ballet.
Dress Code: JLDC regulation Black leotard, black pants and regulation tan jazz shoes.
